Monday Monday!
Has anyone had a difficult time with the time change? It was difficult to get up this morning. I usually get up before my alarm…..this morning I actually hit the snooze button. But I love the extra daylight coming our way
.
I did have a little weekend splurge. I did get in a good TRX Predator Workout yesterday. I love being able to just go down to my basement and get in a great workout. I’d like to get in a good run today….we will see. It’s gonna be a busy week!
We are now at Runner’s World Weight Loss Myth #6!
6) Myth #6: You Have To Ban “Bad” Foods. Many runners and others trying to lose weight cut out all indulgent foods.
Truth: Runner’s World suggests that if your are following an overly restrictive diet, you are more likely to go overboard. You should ask yourself…”Can I live without cake, wine, fries, etc. for the rest of my life?” Most likely, the answer is no. A nutritionist suggests using the 80-20 rule. Like in a previous myth/truth…..eat clean and healthy 80% of the time….then allow room for treats the other 20%. And once again, it comes down to calories in vs. calories burned.
Do you have any banned foods? What is one treat you can’t live without? What is your favorite treat?
Alright everyone, have a great day! I have to test a student for the Ohio Graduation Test this week….each day starting at 6:30 pm
.
Chocolate! My addiction is unreal and the more I try to avoid it the more I over indulge.
Not really, I’ve been having fun trying raw versions of my favorite splurges and am satisfied with the dessert variety, tons of chocolate! I do like an occasional glass of wine, though.
The only thing that I have banned myself from is fried foods. Two years ago, when I started eating healthy, I stopped eating anything that had been fried. At first, I was jealous when I saw people eating french fries (because they used to be my favorite food). Now, I don’t miss them at all. After the Chicago Marathon this past October, I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, thinking that I was rewarding/replenishing myself after a long run. The french fries did not even taste good to me! Thank Goodness!!! LOL!
I had a heck of a time getting out of bed this morning, but it sure will be nice to have daylight until after seven!
I’m a really clean eater, so the occasional snack doesn’t bother me a bit.
I try not too ‘ban’ foods -as it only makes me crave them more.. I like the idea of that 80/20 rule
My favorite treat? Probably dove dark chocolate. A little nibble of this once in a while and I am a happy camper!
Yes, the time change is messing with me already! And I thought it would be a piece of cake this time around!
Hmmm banned foods: diet soda and artificial sweeteners… I can’t live without chocolate, so I try to have one piece of good quality dairy free dark chocolate every day to keep the other bad cravings at bay!
Now if only I could get rid of coffee…. just don’t think it’s gonna happen!
I totally agree that you can’t ban any food. First, it would just make me unhappy, and second, I will just want it more.
I can’t live without peanut butter. Or chocolate. Or fluff. Ok I’m stopping now!
